An update on the un-listed plate marking. I have recently seen a corner strip of four stamps bearing this plate marking under control X35 N40/4 Ochre - Brown. The control was in a different position and confirms it is from the Harrison Printings.

Hi! murray. generally speaking, the Somerset house stamps have a Reddish hue when compared to the Dull Purleples and Lilacs of the De La Rue Printings. I have posted an example from Somerset House as a comparison to the De La Rue half-crown values.

hi! asmodeus. yes to your question. The appearance of a dry printing from this cylinder has proved that it can happen. It is possible that there are various values from the photogravure printings with color omissions yet to be discovered?. Who knows?.

hello! asmodeus. I have posted a steel blue shade in the bradbury section of my photo gallery. It would appear from your scan that it is Dull Grey - blue N71.2. the c.d.s. date on your copy is 1929.
Steel blue is usually from around 1932 - 1934 and placed last in the listings.
