Re: 2002 Golden Jubilee issue. Uncatalogued variant
This is pure guesswork on my part, but I believe that upon the demise of KGV, some of the Photogravure issue were unofficially turned into 'mourning' stamps by the addition of a thin black border over the perforations. Is there any possibility that this has happened to this stamp, and the dates adde...

I recently obtained this via eBay : Downey Head N1 002.jpg The vendor gave no guarantee as to whether it was genuine, and since I only paid £6, I have no quibble. I just wondered whether any members felt that the balance of probability is that the hand written inscription is genuine and accurate, me...

I am by no means an expert, but if, like me, you would like to build as complete a collection of all the QEII pre-decimal varieties as is possible, then I think it is worth obtaining these, if you can do so at prices you feel reasonable. As to distinguishing the paper colours, I have never seen this...

Re: Same cover sent twice.
When, in the dim and distant past, people were trusted to pay for goods or services on receipt of an invoice, I believe that is how the system worked, but without more information, it is difficult to prove in this instance. The receipted invoice would have been returned as proof of payment.
