Forces postage rates
hi, while sorting through some covers I realised that Michael Furfie's excellent booklet on 20th century rates does not cover F.P.O. Is there a concise listing of these anywhere? Prompted also by Chris Harmann's great display read about in the GB Newsletter - I am still drooling regarding the Centen...

unfortunately I missed the meeting in connection with Stampex as I had booked my return flight to Germany on Friday and had not spoke to Burkhard Beer before. As we are planning a visit for seberal days with members of the GB and CW PS Switzerland and maybe even combined with the German FGGB I was w...

Robin we all look back and wonder why more people were not more foresighted "in the old days" and did not get later rare items when they were readily available. With hindsight it is always easier to see these! Gustamps are always advertising modern raritiesone should pick up but at the end...

Alexios : Thanks your response that was my first thought too but the "sample" rate would have probably taken too long. Could have been heavy papers of course too.

just read the article about the discussion board in the newsletter and thought I would share this item with you I picked up yesterday at IBRA. 3/- being 2/11d for the 14th weight step so 7 ounces plus late fee. Quite unusual not being registered and not sent as commercial pot / sample etc. I presume...

We will look forward to seeing as many friends as possible and maybe find new members for t...

On the other hand that shade is reasonably common on Lenate overprints so they make a useful reference should anyone come accross one used in England without the overprint!

interpanneau gutter pairs
Can anyone help me her please? Why are interpanneau pairs not given catalogue status and values whereas EII gutter pairs with and without traffic lights are? I managed to acquire my first Geo V cover used with an interpanneau pair last week and apart from that only have an Edward VII pair. They neve...

one of those eternal questions! Does anyone have any information about official acceptance of bisects? A friend has a cover to Germany with a bisect of the 1d lilac all looking perfectly ok. In Part Three of the Postage Stamps of Great Britain there is mention of a 2 1/2d rate to New York cover usin...

http://www.gbps.org.uk/boards/images/transferred/563_1.jpg hallo everyone, we wre recently shown this stamp a group member had got in a collection. Everyone first thought it must just be washed out or otherwise processed. However even under a microscope there was no sign of tampering. I have not se...

Thanks for the input. Seems to be a field not really looked into. On reading the Deegam handbook with the T and C differentiations we realised that there should be potential to identify single stamps with inverted watermarks as being from sheets (all 4 perforations torn rather than cut). SG talks of...

I suggest Allan Oliver and Stuart Tanne UK inland and overseas letter rates available as download from Allan's website. The big question is what you are most into! Sounds like pstage rates.
