Post subject:  Change of Venue for AGM Meeting 22nd June 2019

Advance Notice - 22 June 2019 AGM Meeting at the Dorchester Hotel

As most of you will be well aware the Royal Philatelic Society London (RPSL) is moving premises next year and work is going full steam ahead to get the new building ready for occupation during the middle part of 2019. Indeed, if all goes to plan, the RPSL should be mid-move to their new premises (and our new meeting venue) at 15 Abchurch Lane at the time of our Saturday 22 June meeting (featuring the President's Guest Display from John Horsey and the society A.G.M.). Because of this unavoidable upheaval we have been advised by RPSL that it is likely we will be unable to use either the existing or new premises for this meeting. However, RPSL are honouring all existing bookings and providing an alternative venue (cost neutral to the GBPS).

We have been advised that our meeting venue will now be:

The Crystal Suite
The Dorchester Hotel
53 Park Lane, Mayfair, London W1K 1QA.

If travelling to/from the venue by tube then Green Park is probably the best option as it is on the Jubilee, Piccadilly & Victoria lines and less than a 10 minute walk from the hotel. There are also several buses that service the "Dorchester Hotel" bus stop on Park Lane. Please see the http://tfl.gov.uk web site for more details and to help plan your journey.

Aside from confirmation that our usual display frames and refreshments will be available to us, I have no further details at this stage.

Updates will be provided via the Newsletter if time scales permit but please always check the GBPS website for the latest programme information. For those without internet access you can call me on my home number 020 8542 4226 for information on any late changes.

All being well, our first meeting of the 2019-2020 season should be at the new home of the RPSL but more details on that nearer the time!
