The Bristol squared circle cancel below, from 1906, appears to have 3 arcs (in addition to the corners) and no die identification number.
I cannot spot this in my copy of "Collecting British Squared Circle Postmarks" - all of the later hammers with the time in clear have die identification numbers from 1-12.

As you were - very close examination of the bottom of the hammer shows what could be part of a "4" - this hammer is known used until 12th August 1907 and matches the arcs in the four corners (in particular the 2 arcs in the top left corner).
So not a new discovery
