Would a Victorian stamp off cover, postmarked on the first day of issue command a
premium. In over 30 years of collecting i cannot recall ever seeing one offered for sale
as such.
First day of issue off cover
Re: First day of issue off cover
I would have thought there would have to be a premium, but unless the date of use for the stamp off cover was earlier than any recorded on cover usage, not much of a premium.
Re: First day of issue off cover
Hi Winston W, many thanks for your reply. There was one on the back page of the last GB
Journal. This is a particularly nice example and the dealer is asking nearly £900 for it. So it appears that dealers can ask more for a first day of issue.
Nice to hear from fellow members.
