I am investigating this stamp which I discovered in an estate lot.
Thus far I have established that this type of punch was apply mostly for telegraphic purposes, but sometimes also in the normal use of stamps. I found some conflicting information so, as this is not my area of knowledge, I will appreciate any assistance to get a deeper understanding on this particular stamps' punch marking.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Re: Punch Marking in Re Engraved Sea Horse
Hi Johan, apparently the stamps were clipped to destroy their philatelic value. See short article by Leslie Wilkinson in GBJ, Vol. 24, No. 3, p. 45 (available to download on the GBPS website).
