Information sought on Leith name stamp 1798

We have a letter dated from Leith 14 3 1798 to Edinburgh, which has the LEITH name incompletely stamped in red and the Willcocks catalogue notes that this type was in use only between 1794 and 1795.
As can be seen from this image as the first letter L is missing it is not possible to measure this accurately, but the catalogue notes the two stamps in use were either 26 x 6mm or 35 x 7mm. Our stamp appears to be 33mm x 8mm possibly a ‘worn’ stamp?

Could this just be an extended use of this stamp?

I'd start off by asking how sure are you that the year is 1798 and not say 1795?

The rate charged might help you. Unsure if there was a local rate in that time period for Leith to Edinburgh, but if not, then the rate would be 3d in 1798 as against 2d in 1795.

Thanks for the prompt response
The letter is dated by the writer and by the receiver, and it is the Leith and Edinburgh Penny Post systems, and the catalogue for the other postmarks are relevant to that period.
