Pre-stamp esp. 'Wigan Penny Post'/PAID/Missent etc
'878' barred cancellations -on or off cover esp. 2d blues/surface printed
Postal Stationery
Also towns surrounding Wigan - Leigh, Ashton, Hindley, Tyldesley, Astley, Chowbent etc.

Unidentified Archer Plate on Cover?
I'm new to collecting GB and would appreciate any comments on this cover I acquired in a general lot. Using the SG Spec. catalogue I think it could be SG16b on a cover dated 5th Dec 1853. Is that correct? Secondly, despite the missperf is it possible to plate the stamp? If so, what would be the best...
