Possible SG 8 Plate 177

Post by JohnB »

I have a stamp lettered MB with Fisher/Brown measurements very close to those for Plate 177. The stamp has no particular characteristics except that the serifs at the base of the vertical strokes of the M extend inwards to touch the point of the v. Does this confirm it as from Plate 177?

Hello
I have checked MB plate 177 and the serifs do not touch the v of the M. The only other reasonably notable features of 177 MB are that the right side is pretty strong and the left side is weaker in the upper half than the lower. Apart from that, there are no features to note.
