Foreign Service Fiscal

Post by earsathome »

Hi all,

Yesterday, whilst I was looking for something else, I came across a 'certificate of posting' and as I could not think where or why I got it I took it out of the stock card on which is was kept.

Behind was just the edge of something else and when I took it out it turned out to be the 'Foreign Service' stamp as shown in the attached. I have never seen it, have no idea how long I have had it or where it came from. A very nice looking item but I have no ideas about it.

It is cancelled with (presumably) British...... and I wondered if it would be something like a charge for, perhaps, issuing a duplicate or copy of a passport or something similar.

I googled it and got the information that it is a fiscal stamp but if anyone could come up with more information regarding its use and maybe the cancellation used I would be grateful.

Regards.

Ron.
