GBPS NORTH EAST REGIONAL GROUP: DISPLAY by GT!!
There will be an open meeting for collectors of GB philately and postal history, at the Cavendish Auction Rooms, 153 London Road, Derby, DE1 2SY on Sat 19 October 2019. The venue is no more than 5 minutes walk from Derby railway station, but also has some parking. The format of the meeting will be:
1000 Meet and coffee
1030 Invited display: First round. James Grimwood-Taylor: GB Postal History
1125 Second round: James GT: GB Postal History
1230 Buffet lunch
1315 Business meeting
1330 Participant displays. Please bring 10/20 sheets and talk for not more than 5 mins.
1415 Second round of participant displays
1500 Third round of participant displays
1545 Tea and cakes
1600 Fourth round of participant displays
1645 End of meeting.
We have allowed 110 minutes for the main display: James has a brilliant collection of GBPH especially around the 1840 period, but he is so knowledgeable that he can fairly be regarded as the Robson Lowe of our generation! His collection – and his knowledge – will appeal to everyone, not just to PH collectors!
The purpose of the business meeting is to discuss the future of our group. I (Peter Chadwick) will be over 80, and I do not intend to organise any meetings beyond this one: so we need volunteers to organise meetings after Derby. A fifth meeting is suggested, back to Billingham, for 4 April 2020: we need to agree on this, and for someone to organise it (ie. sell the tickets!). And to plan and organise meetings beyond this.
If you would like to participate in the Derby meeting on 19 October, please send the details below, with £18 (cheque made out to Peter Chadwick) to Peter Chadwick at 1 Seymour Grove, Eaglescliffe, TS16 0LB: tel. 01642 781 274: PVChadwick@gmail.com.
Name of delegate(s)

I enclose payment of £18 per person
