Dear all,
Surfing the internet I found this lot description:
"lot#627
Philatelic ] Continental Night Mail - Postcard with The 4D Late Fee
Paid In Stamps; 24th Oct. 1887 usage of the id brown Postal Stationery
Pc (some staining and vertical crease clear of stamps) uprated for the
4d late fee with 4 id lilacs (some perf stains and one corner fault),
all cancelled by the Cannon St. "Continental Night mail/CS/2"
duplexes. Very rare thus; the first such 4d late fee that we have seen
on a Postcard. Photo"
This is from an old Cavendish auction of 1999. I do not have details
of the specific sale, and unfortulately in the www there was not a
photo of the lot attached. Also missing are the est and realization
price. If any member has a copy of the catalogue in his library, I
would be grateful to receive a photo and the price realized.
Many thanks,
Alexios
