Hotel cachets with Post Paid mark incorporated
Hotel cachets with Post Paid mark incorporated
I have a twopenny Mulready cover mailed from Dublin to Belfast in 1840. It bears an oval Imperial Hotel cachet with "Post-Paid" in the centre. I haven't seen a hotel cachet with reference to post paid in it before (but I haven't seen many). Does anyone know if this was an official Post Office mark or just an internal hotel accounting mark?
Re: Hotel cachets with Post Paid mark incorporated
Peter Wood is his GBPS display last Saturday (27 April) of "Ireland: 1839 to the Easter Rising" showed three different hotel cachets from Dublin. I didn't register what they showed. Perhaps if you ask Peter he can assist you?
Re: Hotel cachets with Post Paid mark incorporated
thank you for your response. Could you please tell me how I can contact Peter Wood. I live in Australia, so I am not well connected to other members!

No wonder you were not at the meeting in London last Saturday.
I suggest through the Programme Secretary, Andy Donaldson FRPSL, programme@gbps.org.uk
