Machin Dummy Books

Introduction

This exhibit comprises Machin dummy books and, by including the equivalent issued items, demonstrates why they were produced.

The dummies exist for the purpose of:
  • Testing new or modified vending machines.
  • Assessment of revised or new book formats.
  • Perfecting stamp book production methods.
  • Training of postal engineers and other staff.
  • Prevention of theft at retailers' point of sale.
  • Promotion by security printers and sponsors.
This display is the result of much original published research and discovery by the exhibitor.
